Hi,
I think you’ve been really brave to write your letter and tell me that your teacher has been hitting you. It sounds like this could be really difficult for you. School should be a place where you can learn new things in a safe environment and where you are treated with respect and kindness. It’s very wrong for anyone to ever hurt you in any way.
What you have told me is happening is really serious. Nobody is allowed to hit you, that can be a type of physical abuse. It would be against the law for a teacher to hurt a pupil so it’s worrying to hear this has been happening to you. I’m wondering if your parents know about this, and if it’s happening to other students too? You are doing the right thing asking for advice about this as you deserve to be safe. It’s okay if you do have more questions or are unsure about what to do so you are more than welcome to contact a ChildLine counsellor either by phoning free on 0800 1111 or for a 1-2-1 chat through the website; a counsellor would be able to talk to you about what your options are.
I’m really glad you felt able to write your letter and I hope you feel able to talk to ChildLine so they can support you to find a way of changing things.
Take care,
Sam
